FC Seoul has officially kicked off its ambitious preparations for the 2026 season by signing veteran goalkeeper and former South Korean national team member Gu Sung-yun. With this high-profile signing, the capital club aims to add much-needed stability to their goal line and fortify their defensive organization ahead of the new campaign.

Gu Sung-yun is a proven competitor who has consistently demonstrated his skills at the highest levels in both the K League and J.League. Standing at a towering 197cm, Gu is renowned for his absolute dominance in aerial duels and his reliable shot-stopping abilities. Beyond his physical presence, he is highly regarded for his composure, tactical defensive coordination, and his exceptional ability to initiate play from the back (build-up).
